Summer Home

July 7, 2011 § 3 Comments

After years of talking about it, months of searching and weeks of phone calls, sending e-mails and making arrangements only to be disappointed…we finally purchased a summer home!

And look, it even fits in our driveway!  I’m so excited.  It’s 27 years old but is still in pretty good shape, the original owners only used it a handful of times in the first 5 years they owned it.  It’s sat in a barn ever since, as it evident by the condition of that propane tank.

All in all though, new vent on the top and new wheels and rims on the bottom, it’s perfectly suitable for our needs.  Oh for joy, no more waking up on the ground atop a deflated air mattress inside a suffocating 8ft  x 10ft dome of polyester. No more crawling over bodies, bags and flashlights just to get outside…especially when first thing in the morning “duty” is calling.

I can’t wait to get it open to air it out, clean it and stock it.  I might be even so inclined to make new curtains…oh, the possibilities.  Did I mention how excited I am?
